Message from the Dean

Since its inception in 2002, the Public Health Program at Ponce Health Sciences University has been committed to shaping the future of public health professionals. Our journey began with the launch of the Master of Public Health (MPH) program with a General Track emphasis. In 2007, we expanded our offerings to include MPH tracks in Epidemiology and Environmental Health, as well as the Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) in Epidemiology. These programs reflect our dedication to providing comprehensive and impactful public health education. In April 2013, the PHP achieved accreditation by the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH), a recognition by the U.S. Department of Education as the leading independent accreditor of public health schools and programs. This accreditation underscores our commitment to academic excellence and adherence to the highest standards in public health education. I am thrilled to share that in March 2019, the CEPH Board of Councilors reaccredited our Public Health Program for a full seven-year term! This significant achievement is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our faculty, students, alumni, and community partners. Your support has been instrumental in maintaining the quality and impact of our program. As we continue to grow and excel, it is essential to keep our community informed about our latest news, events, workforce development initiatives, and continuing education opportunities.
