Mission
The mission of the PHSU School of Dental Medicine is to develop culturally aware, excellence-driven, ethical dental professionals who demonstrate empathy and strong academic foundations to provide oral and overall health care to the highest standards. To accomplish this, the school is committed to an integrated curriculum based on four interrelated activities: teaching, research, patient care, and service.
Accreditations
The Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) program is accredited and has been granted the accreditation status of “initial accreditation” by the Commission of Dental Accreditation (CODA), a specialized accrediting body recognized by the United States Department of Education.

Public Notice of Upcoming Reaccreditation Visit by CODA
Ponce Health Sciences University School of Dental Medicine wishes to announce that
it will host a site visit by the Commission on Dental Accreditation from April 21–23,
2026, as part of the process for continuing accreditation of its Doctor of Dental
Medicine program at the Ponce campus.
As part of this process, CODA invites third-party comments concerning the DMD program.
You are invited to submit written comments via email directly to the appropriate CODA
staff.
