A new dental school represents a world of opportunities for motivated individuals to become competent, emphatic, and ethical dentists. Our carefully developed program will be based at our Ponce campus, known for its top-notch academic programs and nationally recognized research activities. Our institution is driven by excellence and quality in health sciences education. This culture will be deeply rooted in our Dental Medicine program to benefit our amazing academic and student community. The School of Dental Medicine’s leadership and faculty are firmly committed to offering and promoting evidence-based education, a competency-driven curriculum, meaningful service to our communities, and making significant scientific contributions to oral health. Programs

Mission

The mission of the PHSU School of Dental Medicine is to train culturally competent, excellence-driven, and ethical dental professionals who are well-prepared to provide compassionate and high-quality dental care, particularly to underserved communities. To achieve this, the School is dedicated to an integrative curriculum that emphasizes four key areas: teaching, research, patient care, and service. Our focus on the development, dissemination, and practical application of knowledge supports the enhancement of both oral health and overall well-being.

Accreditations

The Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) program at Ponce Health Sciences University is accredited and has been granted the accreditation status of “initial accreditation” by the Commission of Dental Accreditation (CODA), a specialized accrediting body recognized by the United States Department of Education.
