Online vs Virtual Remote
Choose the learning experience that fits your learning style. Our programs offer two distinct flexible learning formats: Online and Virtual Remote.
Online — Learn on your schedule. Online courses are asynchronous, meaning there are no required live class sessions. Access course materials, complete assignments, and engage with your coursework when it works best for you.
Virtual Remote — Learn live, from wherever you are. Virtual Remote courses are synchronous, with required live classes held via Zoom Monday–Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Central Time. You’ll attend class in real time, interact with faculty and classmates, and follow a structured daily schedule—all without coming to campus.
The choice is yours: Prefer the flexibility to build your coursework around your schedule? Online may be the right fit. Prefer the structure and connection of a live classroom from home? Virtual Remote gives you that experience without relocating.

Online and Virtual students learn from the same PHSU faculty who teach our on-campus programs. The format is different; the degree, the accreditation, and the standard of rigor are not.

Master of Science in Medical Sciences (MSMS) Virtual Remote - a transformative program tailored to strengthen your knowledge base and enhance your preparation for doctoral programs in medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, and veterinary medicine.
Master of Science in Preclinical Sciences (MSPCS) - a fully online graduate degree designed for students seeking advanced education in the biomedical sciences. Through rigorous coursework in human physiology, pathology, pharmacology, and related disciplines, students develop a deep understanding of the scientific principles that drive modern healthcare and medical research.
Additionally, individual programs are programmatically accredited.
Both the MPH and MSPCS programs are designed to be completed asynchronously and can
accomodate a full-time employment schedule.
Due to the set timing and rigor of the MSMS program we do not recommend that students
work a full time job while completing the program.
